The following are guidelines for the production
and installation of our products.
Socket cut outs to splashbacks : All cut outs in splashback panels
will need to be a minimum of 50mm from the edge of the cut out to
the edge of the glass, with a further 50mm between cut outs. All cut
outs are priced for a cover plate to sit over the face of the glass,if
for any reason, an item has to sit inside the cut out in the glass
this needs to be made clear at the initial enquiry stage.
Please note that we reserve the right to decline from producing a
panel should we feel that the size or quantity of cut outs will be
detrimental to the safe handling or installation of said panel.
All splashback panels will be spaced off the worktop by using plastic
spacers, this will be removed prior to silicone pointing (time scale
allowing).
We will not sit glass directly on to the worktop. All fittings that
are to be fitted on to the face of the glass i.e extractors, we will
drill the glass to accommodate a suitable sizes nylon bush to avoid
the weight of the fitting being carried by the glass. On ALL toughened
panels the diameter of any drilled hole will be the equivalent to
or larger than the thickness of the glass.
i.e 10mm toughened glass will have a minimum 10mm diameter hole drilled.
Hob & sink cut outs in toughend panels. The minimum amount of
glass to remain either side of a hob or sink cut out will be 60mm,
i.e a 600 deep worktop with a 500 deep hob cut out ,which leaves only
50mm either side will have to be made in sections or non toughened.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ON ALL SUPPLY ONLY OR SUPPLY AND FIT WORKTOPS THAT
REQUIRE CUT OUTS FOR HOBS,SINKS OR TAP HOLES.THE HOB, SINK OR TAPS
MUST BE MADE AVALIABLE ON SITE AT TIME OF TEMPLATING, OR IN THE CASE
OF SUPPLY ONLY A PRECISE TEMPLATE/ DRAWING SHOWING THE DETAILS OF
THE CUT OUT REQUIRED AND THE AMOUNT OF COVER GIVEN BY THE APPLIANCE
OVER THE CUT OUT. THIS IS BECAUSE OUR CUT OUTS HAVE RADIUS CORNERS
AND MOST HOBS HAVE SQUARE CORNERS.
All panels that are produced using our CNC workstation will have a
minimum 20mm radius to any internal corner / angle - i.e sink or hob
cut outs. Should the cut out need to have a polished finish, then
the internal corner will have a minimum radius of 25mm.
This applies to all glass up to 25mm thickness. For thicker panels
such as cracked ice The minimum radius will be 50mm. Please
note that once a panel has been toughened,we are unable to carry out
any further edgework or drilling.
